Jane Bennett: revelations in plein air
Dear Jane,

Let me introduce myself. I'm an old biscuit factory on the waterfront just west of the bridge. Would you believe that, in my heyday, I fed half Sydney's workforce?

I hope you will come paint my portrait. Having seen how you've done for some of my friends (the old sugar mill, for instance), I know you're the lady for the job. I've even picked a splendid spot for you to set your easel!

Some of my past workers continue to stop by now and then to reminisce. They can show you around and explain how things used to be for us. If you come, I know we'll all have a splendid time!

Please don't dawdle, though. The demolition machines are only two lots down now; I rather suspect I'm on their list.

Hoping to see you soon...
